"Harry Potter has just been born.... Harry lives with the Dorsleys.... Dudley, Harry's cousin, is extremely mean. He demands a large amount of presents. Then he doesn't want Harry to come to the zoo.... Harry gets a letter. He gets many letters from no one. Harry plans to go to school and learn magic. Hagrid, the letter writer, and Harry go buy school supplies. He gets a snowy owl as a pet, and he gets a wand that shoots out gold sparks. Harry has been struck by lightning and has a scar. He makes some friends. Albus Dumbledore is head master of Hogwarts. The students must be sorted into four houses: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. Slytherin is where all the dark wizards are made. Harry has made an enemy named Draco Malfoy. Harry is a chosen Gryffindor. He learns a hard game called Quidditch. Harry gets a cloak for Christmas, and if he puts it on, he is invisible. A man named Nicholas Flamel made the Sorcerer's Stone. Snape, a mean teacher.... might be trying to steal the Sorcerer's Stone. Harry, Hermione, Neville, and Malfoy have to fight werewolves. They find a unicorn. It is dead and someone drinks its blood and is cursed, and Harry is scared. Snape is trying to steal the Stone for Voldemort. So Harry, Hermione, and Ron will take it first. They must be chess pieces. Ron is taken and knocked out, but Harry and Hermione win. It's not Snape, it's Professor Quirrell! Snape tried to save Harry!!! Harry fights Quirrell and Dumbledore saves him."

[I would just like to note that for years I have been trying to get the boys to read Harry Potter, so I finally assigned it for summer reading for Neph. He finished the book way ahead of schedule and is now on to book three. Meanwhile, Timothy has decided to pick it up after hearing how much Neph liked it. Mom wins!]
