Some really good pieces in here... but also a lot that sounded the same. Did make me want to get my butt in a chair a start writing, but I don't know that it was a guide to doing so in a creative, focused, and productive way.

The Chalk Box Kid, by Clyde Robert Bulla

8/60 | Started 01.29.25 • Finished 02.10.25 | 5 stars

"This book is about a boy named Gregory who likes to paint. One day he finds a burned building in his new backyard which used to be a chalk factory. Gregory cleans it up and finds some chalk. After learning about lettuce and seeds at school, Gregory uses his chalk to draw a garden on the walls of the burned building. I loved how cool Gregory’s garden looked and how Uncle Max took his posters down."
