Historical fiction for children at its finest. Coupled with Wesley Dennis's lovely illustrations, this story appealed to Carolyn's love of animals. Main character Hans dreams of being a rider in the famed school of riding in Lipizza. Through perseverance, and in part due to the generosity of others, Hans is able to fulfill his lifelong quest. Readers will learn about the history of show riding and even horses in general while diving into Hans's story. A winsome read that Carolyn highly recommends.
