Patti is a gifted writer, and this is not my first of her novels. She has a knack for describing setting and character in a way that isn't forced but melodic. This tale had me wondering whodunnit but I did find it to be quite a bit longer than it needed to be. In my opinion, the post-discovery chapters could have been shortened, and it also seemed to take a long time to get to the discovery itself. Maybe her descriptions got the best of her... An enjoyable book but not quite up to full snuff for me. I suspect most would find it quite good.
