Given that this novel is about AI, it's timely, and so it was very compelling. The Cassidy-Shaw family is involved in a car accident early on in the story - so this is not really a spoiler - with their son Charlie at the helm of their autonomous van. What follows is the fall-out from the car accident, its effects on each family member, and ultimately we discover who - or what - is culpable for the wreck. As there always will be in my opinion, there's money and power involved with the AI program, and the book draws some parallels between algorithms and family dynamics. Quite a provocative read and it kept me turning pages. Would recommend. 4 stars.
