I honestly don't know what to say, and therefore don't have much to say about this book. I thought it would have more to do with the history of Black America in the blues as a music style, but it was not that. There were some touches on blues and jazz, which I found interesting, but the rest of it was just not good in my opinion. I seriously wonder if it's because I'm white that this book didn't resonate with me at all. It was a book club pick and I was not able to attend the discussion so I don't know what everyone else thought about it. I'd also say that this was bent very liberally and so of course there was a lot of political rhetoric in it that I did not agree with. Do not recommend.
