This book is about a girl named Amanda, and her younger brother and sister, Jemmy and Meg. At first, they worked in a big mansion, but then their mother died and they had to leave. They found one of their friends, a doctor, and stayed at his house for one night before going out to sea on the Sea Adventure. On the way, there is a big storm and the doctor goes missing. He did not come back. Soon, land was in sight, but it was not Virginia. It was a small island called Bermuda. They stayed there while some of the men built boats. Two boats left the island, heading for Virginia. They made it to Jamestown, but a war had gone through the village and very few people were left. The story ends there, with Amanda, Jemmy, and Meg finding their father still alive. 5 stars.
